A few months back Wizard Magazine, it's a comic book mag for those who don't know, had a little contest called "The Direct To Video Contest."   Basically they wanted a 4 minute, funny short that involved comic books.  And seeing as how I love comics and hadn't worked on any fun video projects in awhile, I decided to enter and see what would happen!

First I had to come up with an idea, so I bugged a bunch of my friends with different concepts.  The major problem was I only had a month to do it and it could only be four minutes long.  I was talking to my friend, Frank, and said, "I need a quick premise I could do real cheap and easy.  Like Jackass in the Marvel Universe or something like that."

"I think you have your idea," he replied, noticing the obvious that I had missed.  So I grabbed a few friends and created Marvel Jackass!  And what you have here is the result!  (Aren't you just quivering with anticipation?)

The whole thing was done in about a month.  There were two days of shooting and lots of late evenings editing and adding in special effects.  I used an old VHS camera to get the reality TV look and had to dumb now the effects to get them to fit.  But I'm pretty happy with the final product and since I didn't win the contest I decided I'd make a little corner of my web site to show it off.  So I hope you enjoy it and if you have any comments feel free to E-Mail me at joe@joejustice.org  I'd love to hear any feedback!

Also feel free to show it around!!  The more people can see it the better, at least that way it won't feel like I wasted all that time working on it :)

This is not an official Marvel Comics site.  All the characters are owned by Marvel Comics.  Material on this site is not intended to infringe on any copyright in any way.  I'm no lawyer, so I don't know what I'm suppose to write in this little part of the page where I try to avoid a law suit.  But if you are from Marvel Comics and aren't a lawyer planning on suing me, drop me an E-Mail at joe@joejustice.org!  I'd love to hear what you think.
