Balancing Work and Entrepreneurship with Raymond Wyrick and Brandon McCutchon

In this episode of the Kanawha Valley Hustlers podcast, I talk with Raymond Wyrick and Brandon McCutchon about their businesses and how they manage multiple jobs while building their own ventures. Raymond runs the Dream Market, which provides custom merchandise for individuals and businesses. They focus on fundraising efforts and create apparel with custom prints. He wears his own products daily and emphasizes the accessibility of their services. Customers can order from anywhere, receive digital mockups, and purchase items seamlessly.

Brandon operates Vital Flow, a mobile IV hydration company. They bring hydration services directly to customers’ homes and also have a physical location in Hurricane, West Virginia. He explains that each client consults with a physician over FaceTime before receiving treatment. As a nurse for over 16 years, he wanted to transition to owning his own business. By partnering with a larger organization, he ensured that every client is reviewed by a physician.

Both Raymond and Brandon manage full-time jobs in addition to their businesses. They find the balance challenging but necessary. Brandon acknowledges that maintaining a job while starting a business provides financial stability. Raymond describes his work schedule as long, but he dedicates time to his business whenever possible.

They emphasize that starting a business requires action. Brandon explains that waiting for the right moment often leads to inaction, so they simply started. Raymond compares the learning curve to parenting, where the second time around feels more manageable. Instead of spending free time on leisure, they focus on growing their businesses.

Brandon saw a need for IV hydration in the area. He observed patients needing hydration but not requiring hospital visits. Many people are dehydrated without realizing it, and IV hydration allows for immediate absorption of fluids and vitamins. Their service provides an alternative for those seeking hydration without visiting a hospital.

To reach them, Dream Market and Vital Flow are accessible through Facebook, Instagram, email, and phone. Raymond and Brandon continue to grow their businesses while balancing jobs, demonstrating the drive and commitment that define a Kanawha Valley hustler.
