Kiersten Holman on Connection and Community

I talk with Kiersten Holman at First Tuesdays with Up Next Charlie West. She’s the group’s Member of the Month and a new sales rep for Cintas. Most people know Cintas for uniforms, but Kiersten focuses on facility products like paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, and air fresheners.

She’s been in the role for about a month and says it’s been a smooth shift from smaller companies to working for a large corporation. That transition has been helped by her connections in the community through groups like Up Next and the Charleston Area Alliance. Kiersten moved to Charleston a year and a half ago from Wheeling and says the support she found here made a big difference.

She recently joined the Up Next Charlie West leadership board and wants to extend the same welcome to others that she received. Kiersten says groups like Up Next Charlie West help change the perception of West Virginia and give young professionals a way to build something positive.

Outside of her sales role, she was just named the Cintas Champion of the area, which means she’ll represent the company in local community outreach. That kind of people-facing work is what drew her to the job in the first place.

As we wrap up, she encourages anyone listening to check out local events and reach out. There’s something happening every day, and she’s glad to help people get connected.
