Santa Claus at Lee’s Studio Productions A Christmas Visit
In this episode of the Kanawha Valley Hustlers podcast I meet Santa Claus at Lee’s Studio Productions. He hosts a once a year visit where kids step into a workshop, play with toys, make cookies, drink chocolate milk, draw and color, and hand him a list for Christmas. Each family leaves with an 8×10 photo. I ask how he manages the schedule. He credits his helpers and the elves, who spend two days hauling toys, setting decorations, and getting the workshop ready.
He also walks me through the place itself. The building is the space for Lee Studio of Dance, and trophies line the walls from teams that compete. Many items on display come from the owner’s collection. I hit the questions kids care about: he picks sugar cookies with vanilla icing, he wants milk, and carrots work as a treat for the reindeer. He jokes about taking summer trips to a beach where no one sees him without his coat.
We talk about the farm around the studio and how it stays active all year. There are cattle, sheep, and chickens on the property, plus seasonal events that bring people in. He points to Fear on the Farm as part of the fall run, then shifts to what happens in December, with special guests and a Krampus night that draws a crowd. I remind listeners to follow Fear on the Farm on Facebook so they can track dates and plan ahead.
To close, I ask what he wants kids to remember as Christmas gets close. He keeps it simple and points them back to the idea of Christmas magic and the story behind the season. I ask if parents should read ’Twas the Night Before Christmas on December 24, and he backs the idea.
