Standing Out in a World Full of AI

It’s time to talk about standing out in a world where AI is everywhere. A lot of people are worried about what AI means for their jobs, their relevance, and their future. Just last week, Google released its Veo 3 model. It can create full cinematic video—every part of it generated by AI. It’s impressive, but it raises a question. Are we headed to a future where someone just types a prompt, hits enter, and a billion-dollar movie pops out?

I don’t think so. People don’t just want content. They want connection. And in this era of low trust and high information, what matters most is authenticity. Ever since 2008, we’ve been bombarded with nonstop information. And when people feel overwhelmed, they stop trusting. They stop responding. They scroll past. They tune out.

That’s why being authentic isn’t optional. It’s the only way forward. And no, authenticity doesn’t just mean grainy selfie videos. It means being real. It means showing up as yourself, not using avatars or AI voices to fake your presence. You can make a beautiful AI-generated video that says all the right things, but if it’s not you, people won’t believe it.

We’ve seen it before with spokesmodels reading scripts that didn’t connect. Now the risk is even higher with digital avatars and synthetic voices. People don’t buy from avatars. They buy from people. That’s the key. That’s the work.

As AI keeps growing, it will create all kinds of tools and entertainment. There will be deepfakes, fake voices, and even AI-generated films starring actors who never agreed to be in them. We’ll need laws and ethics to catch up. But as we step into this uncertain future, one thing is clear. Whether you’re posting on social media or making a commercial, being true to yourself is the only strategy that works.

So be real. Be honest. Be you. That’s how you build trust. That’s how you grow.
